Maths Buddies

We have continued with Maths Buddies in Room 5. The ‘Big Buddies’ are from 5th Class Room 11 and the ‘Small Buddies’ are from 1st Class Room 1.We have great fun.

We are in Second Class this year. We are learning how to subtract tens and units. It is very hard.

What can you do in one minute?

Some pupils from Second Class in Room 3 accepted the challenge.

Task 1
Can you build a tower of 30 Unifix cubes in one minute?

Only Tomisin and Kelly managed to do this.

Task 2.
How many hops can you do? (You may change feet)

Kelly managed 111 hops.
Pelumi managed 78 hops        .

 
Task 3.
How many times can you write your name?

Emily wrote her name 16 times
Andy and Tomisin  wrote their names 13 times.

Task 4.
Can you stand on one leg for one minute without falling?



Kelly, Emily, Katie, Samantha and Nicole were able to do this
Pelumi, Tomisin and Andy were not.


Task 5.
Which number can you write up to?

Samantha wrote up to 39       

Task 6.
How many times can you click your fingers?

Katie  managed to click her fingers 117 times.



What was the most difficult challenge?
Kelly said writing her name over and over again was difficult. Samantha thought writing numbers was hard. Emily, Pelumi, Andy, Tomisin, Katie and Nicole said standing on one leg was the most difficult.
