Some Brain Boosters for you.
Don't forget your Thinking Cap!
1. Some
children were playing hide and seek in a park where there were seven trees. One
of the children was “It” and the others were all hiding behind trees. You could
not see them, because they were hiding. See if you can figure out the fewest
possible number of children hiding, using the following information:
A girl was
hiding to the left of a boy.
A boy was
hiding to the left of a boy.
Two boys were
hiding to the right of a girl.
Hint: Draw a picture or diagram.
2. The rope ladder
of a boat hangs over the side of the boat and just reaches the water. Its rungs
are 20 centimetres apart.
How many rungs
will be under the water when the tide rises one metre?
